Grease traps and local food service businesses
Johnstown runs its own wastewater treatment facility, so kitchens here deal with the local utility rather than the Columbus grease program.
Keep the hauler's record from every visit, and shorten the interval if the provider keeps finding the unit close to full.

Common grease trap questions
How often do Johnstown restaurants need grease trap pumping?
It depends on trap size, menu and volume, along with local requirements. Confirm the required pumping interval with the city before setting a schedule. Interceptor sizing here follows the Ohio Plumbing Code, and the provider can measure the tank to suggest a starting point. A provider can measure your trap and suggest a schedule.
Do providers serving Johnstown handle in-ground interceptors?
Many do. Tell the provider whether you have an indoor trap or an outdoor interceptor, and its size if you know it, so they can confirm they have the right equipment. Call to check availability.
Who will I be speaking to when I call?
